How to read the Dota 2 hero ranking
The ranking lists all 127 heroes from 3,404,558 ranked all-pick matches of the last 7 days, all ranks combined. Wraith King is on top with 55.1%, Nature's Prophet is last with 43.0%. Every hero has thousands of games in this window, so even the gaps of one or two points between neighbours rest on real samples.
- Win rate shows how often a hero wins in the current meta, across every player who picks it. A hero that needs practice can rank low because many players are still learning it.
- Pick rate is the share of matches with the hero. A popular hero with a 49 % win rate can still be a solid pick; it is just played by everyone.
- Use the attribute and role filters to compare heroes that do the same job.
Popular or rare: the four corners of the chart
The chart puts every hero on two scales: how often it is picked and how often it wins. The lines split it at 50 % win rate and at the average pick rate of 7.9% (ten heroes per match, shared by 127). Top right are the meta picks, led by Wraith King (13.5% of matches, 55.1% win rate). Top left are the hidden gems that few players pick but that win often, such as Visage (1.6% of matches, 53.7%). The bottom half holds heroes that currently lose more than they win.
Early, mid and late: which heroes scale
The early, mid and late columns split every hero's games by match length: under 25 minutes, 25 to 40 minutes and over 40 minutes. The difference between early and late shows whether a hero gets stronger the longer a game lasts or wants to end it quickly.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best Dota 2 hero right now?
By win rate over the last 7 days, Wraith King leads our ranking at 55.1% across 459,717 games. A high win rate means the hero wins often in the current patch and meta; whether it fits your game also depends on your role, your hero pool and the draft.
How often is the hero ranking updated?
The numbers come from the last 7 days of ranked all-pick matches stored by the Dota2Arena scanner. The date at the top of the page shows the last refresh.
What do early, mid and late mean?
They split every hero's games by match length: under 25 minutes, 25 to 40 minutes and over 40 minutes. A hero with a much higher late win rate scales well; a hero with a high early and low late win rate wants to end games quickly. Values need at least 500 games in that length.
Does the ranking cover all ranks?
Yes, all ranks combined. The scanner does not see player ranks in the Steam match stream, so a split by bracket follows once player ranks are known.
What are the tiers?
A fixed split of the win rate ranking: S is the top 10 % of heroes, A the next 20 %, B the middle 40 %, C the next 20 % and D the last 10 %. Pick rate does not change the tier.
