Dota 2 hero tier list explained: who to pick this week and why

Wraith King is the strongest hero in ranked right now with 55.1% over 459,717 games. The S tier holds 13 heroes from 52.4% upwards, Pudge is the most picked hero with 28.1% of all matches, and Nature's Prophet closes the list at 43.0%. Every number comes from 3.4M ranked all-pick matches of the last 7 days, all ranks combined, scanned by Dota2Arena.

The meta this week: top 10 heroes by win rate

Win rate is the share of games a hero's team won. It is the most honest single number for ranked, because it already contains how easy a hero is to play, how well it fits the current patch and how often it gets drafted into bad lineups. These are the ten heroes winning the most right now.

Dota 2 hero tier list by win rate: 13 S-tier heroes led by Wraith King
The Dota 2 hero tier list on Dota2Arena, updated Nov 3, 2026. S and A tier heroes are shown larger.

How the tiers work

The tier list is a fixed split of the win-rate ranking, nothing else. The top 10 % of heroes are S, the next 20 % A, the middle 40 % B, then 20 % C and the last 10 % D. This week that puts 13 heroes in S, 26 in A, 50 in B, 26 in C and 12 in D. Pick rate does not move a hero between tiers; it is shown so you can judge how reliable a number is. A hero with 459,717 games has a stable win rate, a hero with a few thousand games can swing a full percent from one day to the next.

Remember
  • Tiers compare heroes with each other, not with an absolute bar. A B-tier hero still wins about half of its games, which is fine if you play it well.
  • All ranks are combined for now. Heroes that reward mechanics usually look weaker here than they are at Divine and above; heroes that punish mistakes look stronger.
  • A hero's own page shows the numbers that decide a game: win rate by match length, items, matchups and the ability build.

Best Dota 2 heroes per position

A tier list across all roles hides the question most players actually have: what do I pick on my position? The table takes the typical positions of each hero and lists the three highest win rates per role this week. Positions are editorial, the win rates are not.

Popular is not the same as strong

The most picked heroes are not the ones winning the most. Rubick, Sniper, Ogre Magi, Axe and Earthshaker are picked far more often than an average hero and win right around 50 %: popular, comfortable, but not a free win. On the other side are the heroes that few players touch but that win a lot. Those are usually picked by people who main them, so the win rate says "good in the right hands" rather than "good for everyone".

The best Agility hero this week is Meepo at 54.3%. The best Intelligence hero this week is Outworld Destroyer at 53.3%. The best Universal hero this week is Visage at 53.7%. The full list above is alphabetical inside each group and shows every hero's win rate under its portrait, so you can scan the whole roster in a few seconds.

How to use this list in your draft
  • Start with your position, not with the S tier. A strong support does nothing for a player who queues carry.
  • Pick from the top of your role's list when you have two or three heroes you play equally well; let the numbers break the tie.
  • Check the hero's own page before you commit: a hero that wins at 40 minutes but loses early needs a lineup that survives the laning stage.
  • Treat C and D as "needs a reason", not as "never". A counter pick against the enemy's best hero beats a generic S-tier pick.

Common mistakes when reading a tier list

  • Chasing one week's winner. A hero that jumped into S after a buff often drops back once players learn to play against it. Watch the change arrows once they appear, not only the rank.
  • Ignoring sample size. A low-pick hero at 54 % with a few thousand games is less certain than a 52 % hero with two hundred thousand.
  • Reading all-ranks numbers as your bracket. Until the bracket split is live, the list describes the average ranked game. Your games may look different.
  • Picking against your own pool. The win rate of a hero you have played twice is not the list's number, it is yours.

Frequently asked questions

How is the Dota 2 hero tier list calculated?

Every hero is ranked by its win rate in ranked all-pick matches from the last 7 days, taken from our own match scanner. The top 10 % of that ranking are S tier, the next 20 % A, the middle 40 % B, then 20 % C and the last 10 % D. Pick rate is shown next to every hero but does not change the tier.

Which Dota 2 hero has the highest win rate right now?

Wraith King leads with 55.1% over 459,717 games in our window. Nature's Prophet sits at the bottom with 43.0%.

Does the tier list cover all ranks?

For now all rank brackets are combined. A split by bracket from Herald to Immortal follows once player ranks are known to the scanner; the bracket tabs above the list are already in place for it.

How often does the hero tier list update?

The numbers are recomputed from the scanner daily and cover a rolling 7-day window, so the list follows the current patch without waiting for a manual update.
